Lightning
Weeks ago we had a rare Winter thunderstorm late at night. I was surprised by the lightning bolts that I saw after I woke up out of slumber. Weeks later. after I painted of picture of a friend, I grabbed an 9x12 black pastel paper and oil pastels and drew my own interpretation of lightning.
Very difficult to get the lightning just right. I started with shades of white, purple, orange, and yellow, but I felt the lightning did not get bright enough. For the fourth coat I did just white oil pastel which produced the brightness of the lightning.
