It was still in between the seasons of Christmas and New years day when this image of the bright star that guided the wise men to Bethlehem to honor the young child Jesus came to mind. The entire picture which shows the bright star coming out of the right hand corner was all done by Pentel and Clay Pas Oil pastels. Turpenoid was mixed in with the oil pastels to give the picture the shining effects.

I've never done any Drawings of paintings of any scenes in winter before because it reminds me so much of the cold which I never in my life liked being that I'm a summer person. It is when I'm inside that I notice the beauty of winter after I observe it. This one is drawn from a photograph that I had taken outside of town one time at a very small creek. The snowy background on black pastel paper is done with Pentel Oil pastels and the reflections off the creek are done with Prismacolor colored pencils. Hope my first attempt on this was a good one.
