Weeds in Disquise

This is the first of a series of paintings that talks about the fact that there are weeds in our lives of sin that look good but can unknowingly stunt our Spiritual growth. The first painting is of a Dandelion which is usually visible in the grass. I am currently experimenting with combining acrylic paint with pouring medium which is put in a small bottle called the pouring method. This method was used for the dandelion on the Black canvas panel. The grass on the background was painted with three shades of green with a soft flat number 2 brush. The grass was painted with regular acrylic paint where the paint that was used for the pouring method was with fluid acrylics. Dandelions are a visible reminder of the "weeds" that grow in our own lives.
