Flying Scroll

This acrylic painting was based on the scriptures in the bible where God asks Zechariah in chapter 5 verses 1-4 what he sees. God goes on to explain this the scroll is a curse that is sent out on the earth on thieves and perjurers. This painting was done using several methods. Thin layers of paint where used on the background so that both the earth and the scroll could be seen at the same time with various colors of blue, red, black, and pale gold. The wings painted with light blue. copper, small amounts of black and pale Gold and outlined with pale Gold and white. One coat of Gold sparkle paint was used on the sky and silver sparkle paint was used on the inside on the wings. The handles on the scroll were lightly painted with burnt umber with Vandyke Brown on the outline. The lines on the scroll was done with antique Gold pouring medium. These methods were done to get the proper effects to achieve the goals that the painting is to represent.
